Exploration Expands Gold/Silver And Copper Mineralization At Copper Duke

Vancouver, B.C., August 30, 2006 - Dynasty Metals & Mining Inc. (TSXV:DMM, the “Company”) announces that ongoing rock chip channel sampling on and around the Huato zone of its Copper Duke project has discovered:

  • high-grade gold mineralization in newly-identified veins and stockworks; ?significant copper mineralization in a new porphyry copper target; and
  • widespread copper and gold/silver mineralization over an area 2.5 km by 1.5 km.
Copper Duke is located within the Company’s, 100% owned, Dynasty Copper-Gold Belt, in Southern Ecuador.

Highlights of rock chip channel sampling from the Huato zone include 12.1 grams per tonne (“g/t”) gold and 2.9 g/t silver over 1.7 metres, and 11.7 g/t gold and 14.3 g/t silver over 1.8 metres.

Results from the new porphyry copper target, located in a previously-unexplored area to the west of Huato, include 2.97% copper and 2.41% copper, each over 2 metre samples, taken over an area approximately 50 metres by 30 metres.

High-Grade Vein Channel Sampling
A total of 55 channel samples were taken from high-grade gold vein swarms and stockworks over an area of 2.5 kilometres (“km”) by 1.5 km, in the southeastern continuation of the Huato zone. Samples varied in thickness from 0.40 metres (“m”) to 2.20 m with an average width of 1.65 m.

Porphyry Target Channel Sampling
The newly-identified porphyry target, located approximately 500 metres to the west of the Huato zone, is soil covered and has an oxidized horizon with malachite and chalcopyrite. It occurs between a dioritic batholit and cretaceous andesites and marine sediments. The width of mineralization indicates a potential bulk-mineable target.

The following rock chip channel samples were taken from an outcrop area of at least 50 metres by 30 metres:

General Channel Sampling of the Huato Zone
Additional rock chip channel sampling, taken from a leached environment over a 2.5 km by 1.5 km area in the Huato zone, confirms the presence of copper and gold/silver mineralization throughout the area. Significant results are shown in the two tables below.

About Copper Duke
Copper Duke is one of eight porphyry style systems that are located within the Company’s 100% owned, 90 km by 20 km, Dynasty Copper Gold Belt, in southern Ecuador. The 10 km by 5 km Copper Duke system also contains large quartz-magnetite-sulphide vein swarms and stockworks, commonly associated with porphyry style systems and known to be present in the Dynasty Copper Gold Belt.

Within Copper Duke, the Huato zone is described as a strongly altered (propylitic) Tertiary andesitic volcanic sequence that has been intruded by a number of porphyries with epithermal vein swarms. A northwestern continuous mineralized trend has been identified over a surface of 6 km long by 1.5 km wide.

Quality Control and Assurance
The Copper Duke sampling program is under the supervision, of Franklin Guañuna, a “qualified person”, as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Guañuna is responsible for the preparation of technical information in this news release.

Samples are sealed on the property and shipped to the BSI Inspectorate laboratory in Quito, Ecuador for preparation. Sample pulps are shipped by BSI Inspectorate to its laboratory in Lima, Peru for gold fire assay, silver and multi-element ICP analysis.
